In Key West, a golf cart isn’t just for the golf course. Around Old Town and the neighborhoods, carts and street-legal low-speed vehicles are a favorite way to run errands, get to dinner and skip the parking hunt. If you’re bringing one down from the mainland or another state, we can handle golf cart shipping to Key West door-to-door or to a convenient meet spot.
Who Ships Golf Carts to Key West
- Seasonal residents who keep a cart up north and want it for the winter.
- New homeowners who bought a cart from a mainland dealer.
- Rental and property owners adding a cart for guests.
- Businesses that use carts around a property or marina.
Standard Carts vs. Street-Legal LSVs
We ship both. A standard golf cart and a street-legal low-speed vehicle (LSV) are loaded the same way. The difference is paperwork: an LSV is usually titled and registered like a car, and a standard cart may not be. Where and how you can drive either one is up to state and local rules, so check with the State of Florida and Monroe County before you plan to use it on the street. We just get it here safely.
How to Get Your Cart Ready
- Charge or fuel it. Electric carts should be charged so they can drive on and off. Gas carts need a little fuel.
- Secure or remove extras. Rear seat kits, coolers, bag holders and loose cushions should be removed or tightly fastened.
- Check the top and windshield. Tell us if your cart has a tall canopy or a fragile enclosure.
- Bring the key and any charger. Many owners pack the charger separately. Ask us before putting it in the cart.
- Take photos. Dated pictures of every side make the delivery inspection easy.
What to Tell Us in Your Quote
Give us the make and model, whether it’s electric or gas, whether it runs, and any lift kit, oversized tires or extended roof. A lifted six-seater needs different space than a standard two-seater. Also tell us about the delivery address. Many Old Town homes sit on narrow streets, so we may meet you at a nearby spot. Our Old Town delivery guide explains how that works.
Shipping a Cart With a Car
Moving down with a car and a cart? Mention both when you request a quote. Combining them can make planning simpler. See our Ship a Car to Key West page for the car side of the trip, and Moving to Key West for the bigger picture.
Delivery Across the Keys
We are a direct carrier for all of Florida and serve the entire Florida Keys, so we deliver carts to Key West, Stock Island and the rest of the Lower Keys. See Stock Island & Lower Keys auto shipping for neighborhood details.
Carts coming from out of state usually ride with an interstate transporter to Florida first, then we bring them down the Keys.
Payment
We prefer COD whenever possible. Every carrier accepts COD, but not every carrier takes billed payments, so paying on delivery lets us line up the best carrier for your route. For carts leaving the Keys, payment may be split since a separate transporter is usually used, and we’ll work that out with you before booking.
