Routes to & from Key West

Ship a car to Key West — from anywhere.

Wherever the vehicle starts, the last 113 miles are the same road. That leg runs on our own trucks, every time, all the way to Mile Marker 0.

How It Works

Every move splits in two.

There is the part that gets your vehicle to Florida, and there is the part that gets it down the Keys. They are completely different jobs, and confusing them is why so many Key West shipments go wrong.

Anything starting in Florida runs entirely on our trucks. Our driver collects it and delivers it — no handoff, no second company, no load board.

Anything from outside the state splits. A vetted partner carrier — one we use repeatedly, not whoever bids lowest — runs the long haul into Florida, and our truck takes it from there to your Key West address. You deal with us throughout, and we tell you up front which parts are which.

The Keys leg never gets subcontracted. That is the whole reason this company exists.

The last 113 miles are the job.

42 bridges. Two lanes. One road, with no way around a backup once you are past Key Largo. Most national carriers quote it and then discover they cannot service it.

Timing

Two things decide your date.

Worth separating, because they behave completely differently.

1

Getting on a truck

Usually a day or two, and sometimes a great deal less. If a truck is already routed your way, first call to delivered can happen inside a single day. Peak season stretches it — we will tell you where you sit when we quote.

2

Time on the road

A few hours from South Florida, most of a day from Orlando or Tampa, several days from the west coast. The Keys leg itself is roughly three and a half hours from Miami once the vehicle is loaded.

Why a carrier beats a broker on speed.

A broker takes your booking and then starts looking for someone to haul it. That search is the wait, and it is why quotes turn into week-long windows. We already own the trucks, so when one is heading your way we can go from quote to loaded to delivered in a matter of hours. It will not line up every week — but when it does, nobody working through a middleman can match it.

Common Questions

Shipping to Key West, answered.

Can you pick up from anywhere in the country?
Yes. Within Florida the truck is ours from your door to your Key West address. From outside the state, a vetted partner carrier runs the long haul and our truck takes the Keys leg. Either way you are dealing with one company and one point of contact — there is no moment where you get handed to a stranger.
Why do other carriers stop at Homestead?
Because the last 113 miles are the hard part. The Overseas Highway is two lanes for most of its length across 42 bridges, with no alternate route and limited turnaround options for a long rig. A driver without local knowledge can lose half a day to one wrong turn, so many national carriers quote the route and then ask you to meet them on the mainland.
How long will it take?
Scheduling and transit are separate. Getting your vehicle onto a truck usually takes a day or two, sometimes far less if one is already routed your way. The drive itself depends on origin — a few hours from South Florida, several days from the west coast. We give you a real date rather than a seven-day window.
Do you deliver to every island, or just Key West?
Every address on the chain, from Key Largo at MM 106 down to Mile Marker 0, in both directions. Key West is simply the end of the road.
Is it cheaper to ship to Miami and drive the rest?
Occasionally, on a long out-of-state move, and we will tell you if that is genuinely the case. But it means flying or driving to Miami, collecting the vehicle, and driving the Overseas Highway yourself on a day you probably need for something else. Most people who have done it once do not do it twice.
